According to Dexter,If you jack up the axle, It should drop at least 3 inches. Anything less will probably need to be replaced soon. Mine dropped 2 inches in 20 degree weather. going to recheck when it warms up a little.

I'll check out the article on inland rv.
Yea, I watched the YouTube video some time ago and really liked it.

I called inland rv and got a price of $675/axle for either size.

I'm waiting for the weather to turn for the warmer and then I'm going to begin the project. I'm sure I'll be ordering axles.
Any thoughts on putting new tires on the old rims or to just buy new rims all together?

I'm gonna glass bead strip and repaint my existing rims but if yours are in poor condition Andy at Inland will sell you tires and rims that will make you very happy

oh when you order buy the complete axle set up with new brakes etc and get the new shocks from him, they are on sale for 25 bucks each right now. My two new axles just arrived by air yesterday. One for the Safari and one for my Tradewind.

I'm so excited, can't wait to get them on and out into the woods

I talked to Andy today and was honored to speak with him and was grateful for his help. I will be spending a lot of money in the near future getting all of the parts I need.
Yup, I will for sure be ordering the complete axles, no sense in skipping out on all the quality and safety.
