New Axles with 3" lift

Hat tip to Colin Hyde for sourcing my new Axles.

They fit perfectly (even with my 3" lift) and work great.

A big improvement no doubt, and no more dragging donkey at every gas station!

The hitch height is going to be about 2" higher.

what did you use to raise them? ARe these the stock 22 degree axles with some additional blocking to create a 3" lift?

I had my old axles replaced and the guy who did it replaced them with zero degree axles, so I need a lift kit or something to create more clearance

New Axles with 3" lift

I used the stock degree axles.

In short we welded a 3" X 1/4" angle to the bottom lip of the old axle mounts (I.e. The bottom of the frame ) and then used a square to mark the slots for the axle.

There is a bolt on kit available to raise two inches for a couple hundred bucks.

I went the way I went for two reasons, one it was cheaper, I already had thirteen feet of angle, and two because I was able to remove a pretty good bit of frame sag by jacking the trailer from the rear and welding in the angle.
