Neverlube Dexter hubs on a Mag wheel?

I'm getting ready to order a new pair of Dexter axles and was going to have them mount the never-lube bearings, however I wasn't sure of they wouold fit with the mag wheels (original wheels on a '73 Excella). I tried to get the center caps (aluminum cones) off but wasn't able to get them off. Has anyone ever used the never-lube axles with alum mag wheels?
