I don't like spending extra money anymore than anyone else does, and certainly have little to no discretionary income each month, but when it comes to things like axles/brakes etc I don't like to take chances.
I ordered 2 complete axles from Andy at Inland RV. Once the brakes and bearings were all on, installing the axles took less time than it did to paint the frame for the reinstall (removing rust and coating with por-15) Each axle from start to finish minus dry time took under 20 minutes of work and absolutely no modifications needed in any way.
The axles fit so perfectly they pretty much fell into place, 4 bolts a few wires and a torque wrench and it was ready.
I respect those that want to do mods to save some bucks, but bottom line for me I know the welds are good, and no stress that something isn't going to fit or function right, and by some off chance it did, I know that the dealer would make it right because it wouldn't be my mistake. IMHO its worth the extra money for the peace of mind and ease of install.
