Could this be??

This past weekend and buddy and his wife from Canada stopped by on their way to Florida for a rally. He has a 1967 Safari, I have a 1966 Safari. Since axles have been a hot topic, we decided to look and measure both trailers to see if they we the same. THEY ARE NOT!! According to our tape, on both trailers the brackets are 58" apart, but the hubface on his is 76 apart and mine is 75" apart. Now add to that from the inside wall (street side) to the door jam, his is one inch wider!!

So much for any two being a like...

Paul,
That is weird.
Did you measure the actual hub face with the wheels off?
Is his axle original, and is yours original?
If yes, why are they still original....
The interior width, although sounding strange, is not that unusual. I have seen differences of 1in in the same trailer, front to back.
My 1963 Overlander was 1in narower by the front side windows than it was by the last rin before the bath in the rear.
So much for "they don't make them like they used to"....
