Brakes grease and axle check

i have had my baby stored since last year, i am about to go on the road again, i am going to take it in to get the brakes checked, greased and looked over underneath. 73 30 excella, any ideas on how much i should pay. The guy I am taking it to is new to me, he fitted my towing and sway bars and says he has worked on airstreams before, i am just leery of getting ripped off as i have never had this done before. Thanks for any advice. I would love to do it myself but it sounds complicated. btw - we have a canal front overnight with full power and water - no sewer, for any airstreams in clermont florida. just would be great to meet some people. we only charge 2 beers

Rivet Meeting Airstreamers in Florida ...

tincanholiday,

Have you checked this thread?:

Why don't you join up after your bearings are greased?

You are really close to Walt's RV in Ocala if your in Clearmont. Call them and ask for an estimate for that work scope. That will give you an idea of the local costs. 352-237-6813.

Tin Can,

When were the bearings last repacked? How many miles since last service. Is the trailer stored inside on concrete where they don't get a lot of condensation? Do you know if it had new seals? If you haven't had the trailer long, I would stay with the service man the whole time and audit everything.

You may chose to do everything; new seals(with tension springs), inspect & repack bearings, inspect brakes, replace wheels and adjust brakes.
