Hi Bob. Do you know how much road traveling your Bambi has done? 1968 and older Caravels and Bambis had too-small spindles installed and are known to fail catastrophically. I remember theVAP guys talking about this. Looking into possibilities for your whole axle might be advisable. Is your '62 axle welded right on the frame too?

Time for the REAL vintage folks (that's not me) to post...

Bob, (The first one)

Most trailer shops can handle your needs. You may have to get to Vancouver to find a shop. The shocks are verticle mounted so take your old one to a shop and have them match it up.

The pre-68 axle concern Bob (#2) speaks about was on Caravelles and GlobeTrotters. It may be the same as on your Bambi, however the Bambi is a lighter rig and doesn't place as much strain on the axles. And it is the spindles that are the issue and only on torsion axles. You may have a leaf spring axle and if that is the case forget everything that we just posted.
