axle replacement options 1969 Tradewind

Hello from western North Carolina,
I have a 1969 Tradwind "project" trailer (a lot of work to do)
Is the Dexter axle the only replacement option now that the Henschen plant has closed?

What information is needed to get the correct replacement axles?

thank you,
Paul

Axis axles are another option and I think that Henschens are still available though not currently being manufactured.

Paul we ordered 2 axles from Inland Rv (the henschens) a few years back for our 69 tradewind and 100% would do it again if we needed to. It literally took longer to pack the wheel bearings than it did to install both axles. Removed the old bolts, jacked the new ones in, bolted right up in the same holes, new shocks, then did the brake assemblies with new bearings etc included in the kit. Is a little more expensive than the other brands but well worth the price difference for a 100% guaranteed fit with zero modification needed.

I think I remember reading him having a significant supply to get them through the down time of moving the plant.

Paul.

Hundreds of Henschen axles have been inventoried, to cover the down time.

I used Axis axles that I ordered through Colin Hyde of Colin Hyde Trailer Restorations (Colin Hyde Trailer Restorations). Colin has worked with Axis and he knows how to spec the axles for your trailer. Might give him a call, I was very happy with the service, axles are first rate and I saved a lot of money.
