Axle replacement 1964 Globetrotter
I am in the process of replacing the axle on my 64 Globetrotter, ordered from Inland RV. The instruction provided by Inland Andy does not work, have tried to contact with no luck. When I ordered the axle, he said to replace the two bolts with four 1/2" bolts. With the way the mounting bracket is made on the new dexter axle there in no room to drill holes for four new bolt locations. Also the instructions to mount the shock brackets puts the shock almost over the square axle beam which will not have hardly any movement at all. The old axle has the shock mount directly behind the spindle, which makes sense. I think the shock bracket should be mounted opposite of what the instructions show. Need help, do I need to modify the frame to make this axle work?
