Question Axle condition

How can I inspect to tell if my axles are in acceptable condition and how often should hub bearings be repacked? How can you tell if repacking is needed?

Repack them now to start then every 10K with little use or 20K with heavy use.

Bearings should be repacked every 10,000 miles or once a year, which ever is first.

Why once a year if the trailer was not towed very much? Water (condensation) can collect in the hubs. If you don't look at the bearings, then you would have no idea if that took place.

Water in the hubs, will cause the bearings to rust. NOT GOOD.

To check your axles out, read the following article.
