Axle advice for Europe

Hello all, i've been reading your threads with great interest, i've been trying to research on which axles to use in Europe as i am about to take delivery of a 69 tradewind and will need to swapout the axles, the one firm I have found here is Knott which have axles rated to 3500kg which i will take two of at 1800kg a piece as i want to rate the wagon to 3.5 ton for a hamburger stand, the thing that i have found with the knott looking at them is that they have no bolt holes in the side of the mount to mount them in the original holes they have just four holes on the top of the mount ,do you think it would be possible to drill holes in the mount?, and also the nearest axle i can find that would fit would be 6 cm shorter than the original (at the hubs only, mounting points would be fine) does anyone have any advice on this, especially anyone from Europe that's already travelled this road,

Hello Rich,
I would say your best bet is to contact Werner. He is your neighbor of sorts. I'm not sure what brand of axle he used on his cruiser, but you can read about it here. He is having his restoration completed in Hamburg by Airstream4u.de.

thanks for the replies, Andy the tradewind hasn't arrived yet at the moment it should be arriving into Bremerhaven, i'm just trying to get an idea of everything before jumping in (prearmed and all that!), many thanks for your replies.
