'69 GT Bearing Seals

My wife and I purchased a 1969 Globetrotter late last year. Our auto mechanic, who we trust a great deal, has agreed to look at the axle, bearings and repack the bearings. He only requested that he didn't have to run around looking for seals and asked that we get them for him. Can anyone tell me what kind of seals to buy for a 1969 Globetrotter? I would very much appreciate your help. Thank you. Dave & Mary Beth Baur, Gray, Maine

Hello,
I would suggest that your mechanic get the old seal for you to match up if possible ,and not on a friday in case you have to order them .PM inland andy as he can possibly tell you what seal you need ahead of time.

Examples are the BEST!!!

Dave -

Having a sample bearing off the trailer/axle is the best way to source parts. Period.

Failing that, a few phone calls (Andy, AutoParts places) may save a lot of driving.

Enjoy that AS when you get her roadworthy!!!

Some dealers don't need anything more than the serial number of your trailer,
so that they can confirm the exact identity.

From that, they can tell you what grease seals and bearings your Airstream has.

We do this everyday.
