This sounds good to me, more or less, if a bit useless because there's no way I'm going to pack 1,500 lbs of stuff into my Bambi, (!) but I wanted to check that there's no other fall-out to having axles like this that is obvious to people who know about this stuff, like weird tires required or weird tire wear or something, if anyone has a sec.

They do that because in Canada they have too. Be Thankful.
In the States AS they are (still) outfitting some of their trailers with under rated axles.
Our Classic,(03), has two 3500lb pound axles on a 7300lb GVW trailer.
