Smile 1966 17' Caravel - Need to order new Axle

Hi All,

I have a 1966 17' Caravel that I want to order a new Dexter axle for. Has any one ordered a axle for this year and model? If I can order one from a Dexter Axle dealer in Oregon I will save close to $300 in freight compared to ordering one from a dealer in Southern California who might know exactly what I need. Unfortunately the dealers up here do not know what to order (either do I).
Any information I would appreciate.

Thanks,
Al

If the dealer from Southern California is Inland Supply, worth every penny just in information that I received from them.

There's also Colin Hyde, https://sites.google.com/a/colinhyde...ions.com/home/ who will help you with your measurements & have them shipped to you directly from the factory. I got mine for the Bambi II from him.

I also got mine from Colin. Very easy process and he was a pleasure to deal with! I would do it again.

I got both my axles (Henshen...sp?) from Inland RV. The 'tech', (Glenn?) in the shop was very helpfull and made a followup call to me to see if my installation went okay. It was very easy with some effort removing the old bolts. I did need to ask a neighbor to weld the shock brackets.
