When you think about it and RV is a luxury in itself so if you want a dishwasher then I say get it!
You would do more work loading the dishes and putting them up than I will tossing the paper plates, plastic utensils and plastic cups so I wouldn't call anyone lazy for wanting a dishwasher.
I would love it if I could squeeze in a washer/dryer combo.
I installed a DCS DishDrawer stainless steel dishwasher in our 34ft Excella. I think it uses much less water than hand washing. I'll post a pic of the install but I'm not sure how to do it yet. it replaced the pull out pantry and pull out wastbasket under the appliance garage under the microwave. It works great is almost silent. I can't recomend it highly enough I've already emailed Airstream that it should be an option (it was, on the A-37 motorhome)
I have also heard that a dishwasher uses less water than washing by hand. Not sure of the exact statistics though.
Would I ever install one in my vintage trailer? Probably not because I prefer smaller trailers and the cabinet "real estate" is very valuable for storage use.
You guys are starting to encroach into the luxury diesel pusher MoHo realm . I see one-piece washer/dryer combos (from Splendide) in just about every high end unit that I work in. Very nice option, made in Italy, and use very little water as they are all front-loaders. Only problem is the very limited drying capacity.
Dishwashers are getting more common all the time. I haven't seen as many as W/D units, but they are definitely on the increase. Great....another component to get certification for .
I thought an Airstream was for 'CAMPING". One is definitely NOT CAMPING in a 40-45ft. luxury motor home!!!
I plan on putting a drawer dishwasher in, probably under the cooktop if I can fit it in. They do in fact use less water than hand washing and I don't like paper plates. I appreciate that for some people part of the fun of camping is not having some home conveniences, but I don't think this particular one is anything to be ashamed of if you can spare the cabinet space.
I'm even looking at the washer/dryers, although that's a lot more space to find.

Your dishwasher set up looks great! I wish I had the room in my 25' for one.
As I see it there are many positive reasons to install a dishwasher in a rig:
Dirty pots, pans and tableware are not in the sink or on the limited counter space.
Clean dishes can be left to dry in the dishwasher, saving counter space once again.
They do use less water than hand washing and you can use really hot water for the wash cycle (that would be too hot for your hands) to insure dishes are sanitized.
And, most important to me would be the reduction in the amount of time I need to get the galley cleaned up after cooking and meals. I'd rather be outside enjoying the camping experience than inside washing dishes in my mini galley sink.
