Greetings mok!
My suggestion would be to give the
McKesh mirrors a try. They are expensive initially, but comparatively speaking, the cost over time is small. The set that I use on my Cadillac are 30+ years old, and the set on my Suburban are close to 15 years old. The large mirror as well at the 3" convex spot mirrors significantly decrease stress when merging or changing lanes.
The chrome and stainless versions on my '75 Cadillac -- these are at least 30 years old, and I was able to purchase webbing and cushion kit to restore these directly from the manufacturer.
The 15 year old version of the McKesh mirrors that I utilize on my Suburban.
I tried a set of the CIPA slip-on mirrors, but was never satisfied with the minimal view of the approaching traffic -- and I was almost shocked by what I had been missing without the large convex spot mirrors.
