In your house or in your trailer? If for your trailer, you would lose valuable storage space for the vacuum hardware, etc.
I've always wanted one in my house but I don't need one in my 19' trailer!
We installed central vac in both of the homes we owned. Would not be happy without it.
But in a 25' Airstream? Yikes, I have no idea where we'd put something like that in our 25' Excella. I don't even have enough space for my few pots and pans. But maybe your Airstream has a better layout then mine.

I think that the present vacuum (Dirt Devil upright-$49) takes up quite a bit of closet space.
I thought maybe a small (haven't explored this) central would fit in an outside compartment. We only travel for a few weeks in the spring and fall and most of our "stuff" is in the SUV--dish, tools, freezer chest, tv and trailer cleaning supplies.
I would like a central vacuum, I think, have any of you done this?
There are several small central vac units available for RVs. I see them on a daily basis when I have to go digging in the storage bays of the big MoHos for troubleshooting duties.
The actual vacuum unit is rather small, measuring about 6 X 7 X 14". It connectsto a 120VAC circuit and gets actuated when you plug the hose into an outlet. They have a sensor on the cover that controls the vac unit.
Very nice system made by Dirt Devil and retails for about $350.

Hmmm, I wonder where they are factory installed in the larger Airstream trailers. We have at least one member in our unit that has one in a 30' or 31' camper but I've never seen the product in use (too busy partying ).
I just took a peek at what is offered by Camping World. They have a Dirt Devil Central Vac system for about $400.00. Didn't look up the exact size but my guess is I would be able to fit something like this is one of the interior storage cabinets under our twin beds. I'm thinking there is even more space for such a unit in the storage area under the full/queen bed in Airstreams with this type of layout.
Lucky for me I don't even need a vacuum. A broom and damp mop takes care of the entire rig because the carpet was replaced years ago with a Pergo type product.

In our 310 MH the central vac is installed directly under the sink cabinet in the bathroom. It's not very big at all, since the dust/dirt collector is on the hose. The hose is long gone (still trying to find/fabricate one) and I was wondering where *it* would live. In a rear closet, maybe?

our MOHO has a 120v wall mounted vac-canister located in the center cabinet between the two rear twins, and 2 long sections of hose plus normal shop vac attachments. I think the hose is kind of standard 1 1/4".
IMHO -A small (1 gallon) shop vac w/ long cord or additional hoses would do the same thing.
Central vacuum–now there's an idea that sucks! The old Excella came with a vacuum mounted between the rear twin beds in a little tambour cabinet. It has @ 30' of hose and uses an automotive type paper filter. Works fine, but we don't use it often now that the rugs are gone.

We installed the Dirt Devil CV950 in our 30' Classic several years ago and use it all the time. The DD is very compact and comes with a very compact 30' hose along with a small beater bar and crevice tool. Got ours at RV Upgrades for less than $200. Installation was very easy
