For my 1978 Argossy 24 ft I would like to buy a new Magic Chef - Range & Oven if available at all, or a used one in perfect condition, any help?
Mine works great but just doen't look that good anymore....
camping world will sell you a new one...but then again you might just want to live with it after you check the price...if it works fine...i am assuming the top enamel might be going maybe you could order a part...

If you have the separate oven and cooktop, you might think about a convection microwave where the oven currently is, and a new separate cooktop. Amana's version has sealed burners.

Could you current unit just be repainted? I do not have any direct experiece with appliance refinishing but I understand it can be done. Metal can also be rechormed. Anyone in the forums have any experience with applicance refinishing?
That sounds interesting, any tips on prices and where to buy?
Thanks,
Henk.

I recall an old enameling thread with some links you may find helpful. I've not had to go to that extent, however we did disassemble and rebuild our entire stove/oven this summer. It cleaned up pretty well...see posts starting with #143 in this thread.

Last Spring I did some research for outsourching the refinishing work, and due to cost, etc, I ended up doing the work myself like Shari..
Just take your time and, you'll be amazed at how well it will turn out...
Good luck~

Amana sealed cooktop=$265.78; Magic Chef cooktop (black)=$159.11; Amana Sealed Range Black=$443.56; Magic Chef Range=$328-$354.67; all at Camping World.
I have used appliance paint before with good results. Take care in the prep and use the spray cans and it should do ok. I repainted my 74 Magic Chef as well as the refrigerator. The harvest gold was just too much for my wife. Went back with appliance white.
