We have a 1972 Airstream. Does anyone know where we can get an aerial for it. Also how about a slide for the door.
Sherrie
Camping World and your friendly Airstream dealer both carry Winegard antenaes, depending on if you get amplified or non-amplified, they run from $100-120.
The slide for the screen door is available from Inland RV (909) 734-8130.

Screen door bug slide - Inland part number - 84119
Addional question - We have the aerial, but the gears are gone. Previous owner purchased new gears - still in the package and based on the packaging, they are probably well over 15 years old. If I remove the 3 rivets on the trim by the handle will I have access to the gears for replacement? Or, do I need to access from above. I'm guessing from the inside near the handle.

Gears are on top of the trailer, and as long as the "new" gears aren't brittle from being out in the sun, they should be fine.

New question: I'm 6'2", 250lbs. What are my best options for working on anything on the top of my A/S? I need to do some AC work (AC is leaking inside and want to remove the covers for painting) while I'm up there working on the aerial gears. I assume I am only asking for trouble if I put my full weight on the A/S, but haven't thought of a better way yet.

Two 12 foot stepladders, across the trailer from each other and a stout piece of lumber between them over the trailer.

For those with a sense of humor, and are waiting in the wings with jokes, yes Mark is 250lbs, not Kimber.
