Hi Bruno!

Good to see you back on the Forum.

I ordered parts from Inland RV & he sent them next day to Europe,no problem.

Try this new importer in Germany : www.airstream4u.de

he can change axles & brakes for a good price.

As you've seen the small list , I don't want the moon...
You certainly know why ,now, I was disapointed to get no replies or no advices by the A/S dealers...
May be the location... LA FRANCE ... hum .

A GREAT THANK YOU for the very useful links; They certainly help me and a lot of other A/S owners in US and Europe.

I'm going to contact them.

La France

Bruno,

I really doubt that's the problem.

I know that in my business, there used to be a bit of free time where an order clerk could reach out and make the extra effort needed to fill overseas orders.

I don't think that's the case anymore. Everyone is so busy and over-supervised that there isn't time to reply to an overseas email inquiry.

I send lots of inquiries to vendors, and if you don't look like a 'big customer' you probably (70%) won't get a reply.

You will get better response if you use on-line catalog services, such as Inland RV and handle everything with one e-mail. I know it requires more research on your part, but I think this is where the forum can help you, with things like cross reference parts numbers and the like.

Stay away from the RV dealers. They are not set up to handle overseas orders. Unless you tell them you will be in their town on such and such date, pay cash, and give them the exact part number and they have it in stock.

suite

I continue in my search for genuine parts and here are the results:

- Andy ( inland ) gave me prices at first , 15 days ago, and no more sound from this date, even after emails to wonder why, no reply... just the shipping cost; may be on holidays so the store is certainly closed.

- etrailer don't sent to Europe, only US and puerto-rico... more securly; sure, don't use the web, the local newspaper is enough.

- JC whitney, you can see the publicty on the main page , don't reply to my many emails... Very serious ...

- Boopark BV don't know what is fitted on airstream ; idem for Dexter axel

- Some propose me to change the pump, or to change brakes... The dome is apparently difficult to get. Thank you for all dealers that have replied me. Most of them don't ship overseas, or at what price !

So i can give you now an Airtream dealer who found all my search and can sent me to FRANCE, for an honest price:

C&G Trailer Service
"Airstream Service Center"
9241 Sonrisa St.
Bellflower, CA 90706
(562) 634-6286
CGTrailer@aol.com

If this adress can help you.

Bruno

brunoffrance.

It is always amazing that when an e-mail is not answered, all kinds of assumptions are made.

Bruno, we did not close for the holiday.

But, I did go out of the country and refused to take any work with me.

Taking off for some well deserved R & R with my wife, should not have to be defended, to anyone.

Furthermore, it takes valueable time to research parts requests, and especially from overseas when a freight quote is asked for. Freight depends on what you order, and it's size. A quote is impossible without that information, that you did not provide.

Taking off for a few days should not be a cause to generate negative comments.

Andy
