DC Power Plug

Need a 7-pin DC power plug (trailer end) for a 1977 Overlander. Does anyone know where I can get one?

If you are talking about the trailer to vehicle connector, it is available at any RV parts house, online, and at most auto parts stores.

Trailer connector

Another source is a hitch shop.

I need the trailer end, not the vehicle end.

A good hitch shop should have both ends. Or try camping world.

Even Wal-Mart will have it. It just might not be the best quality as an RV dealer.

Gened,

Are the pins in your connector round or flat? My 1975 has round pins in the connectors, I'm sure someone sales them but I don't know who. I switched the round pin connector to a flat pin so that it would hook up to the more modern vehichles. I live in Newberry and probably could find the plug that I took off, if you are interested.

Thanks,Tim. My pins are round with the larger one on top, not in the middle. I would really appreciate any help since Camping World, Walmart, etc., and the local hitch shops don't have it. If I can't locate one, I'll be forced to change out the trailer receptacle. If you can locate it, please contact me at: kduke@sc.rr.com

Does the plug say signal stat? I just repaced mine on the trailer end. I had to got to the 7-way flat. I could not find a replacement signal stat. I used one from walmart. I had to modify the plug though to properly fit in the front of the AS.

They exist!!

Hi Gened,

I had the same problem with my '78 Sovereign and I found the correct plug here:

http://www.sheltonhitch.com/proddeta...418&catId=1070

The correct receptical if needed is also available:

http://www.sheltonhitch.com/proddeta...419&catId=1070

These are also available in plastic as well but I'm not sure of the manufacturer. I'll check.

Found the source for plastic trailer mounted receptical. I recommend the trailer mounted unit be plastic to remove the problem of electrolosis from dissimilar metals. These folks have the plug as well as the receptical.

http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs...0340&langId=-1

I used the cable end on my pig tail and it worked perfectly. I was able to salvage the original trailer mounted socket, so now my pigtail system works as it was designed! My trailer end is round pin and the truck end is blade, nearly Murphy proof!

Remember Okeefe's corollary: Murphy was an optimist!

Hope that helps.

Take care,

Any airstream dealer will have them - if you call Oasis in Tuscon, they will ship it to you. They do not however, make the plastic "squarish" ones anymore - the new ones are round - but fit (I replaced mine) and easy to find. Any yes I'm talking about the ones with the round pins.
