Question awning roller tube

Hiya...our ZipDee awning roller tube didn't survive a pouncing downpour. Does anyone know where the tube or preferably a 3 foot section can be obtained? It is 3 inch o.d. galvanized. Anyone had a similar problem? Thanks

You will need to get a new 1 peice tube. The stesses from wind, etc will cause it to fail again where repaird unless you can weld it.

If you have a RV boneyard near you I am sure they would sell you a small awning tube, heck you may be able to get a longer than needed tube and cut it to fit.

ZipDee will sell you a replacement tube. Requires some riveting.
Make sure to inspect the tube BEFORE signing for the shipment or else you own it.
(yes, even if the shipper destroyed it)
I have a 18'10" tube with a crease laying in my backyard. You are welcome to come and get it

Unhappy roller tube

Bob , my husband is certified in multiple welding types, been at it for 30 plus years. He had planned to weld new section into 25 foot tube and save on "yikes" shipping cost. Had hoped to find out where to obtain tube, rv boneyards would be great, but we are squeaky new. We purchased this unit this month from the original owner and are repairing as we go. We were checking it out when a storm blew in off the lake and crunched the awning.
Did you order from Zip Dee and get a defective tube? That's scary...

I ordered an entire awning from an Airstream Dealer. My wife had to go to her grandmothers funeral and I had to tend to our business, so I asked my neighbor to sign for it. He noted several rips and cuts of the shipping carton on the ticket before signing it.
After installing the awning I noticed a wobble in the tube. Turned out it had a crease in it.
Everyone, the Dealer, ZipDee and the shipping company pointed the finger at me, saying I accepted the shipment with 'concealed' damage.
Lesson for you: be ready to jump out of bed in the middle of the night to lower your awning.
Lesson for me: never sign for a shipment until its completely inspected (not sure how you find concealed damage )
