1969 Tradewind 25D Interior Parts for Free*

I am gutting the interior of my 1969 Tradewind 25D.

I realize people may desire certain parts such as light fixtures, aluminum channels, and plastic drawer bins.

If you need any these parts, you can have them for free. I am located in San Diego, California. If you need me to ship them to you, then you will need to pay the packing and shipping charges. These charges will completely depend on the specific item's size and weight.

There are some interior parts that I am keeping:
- major appliances (fridge, stove, heaters, water heater)
- fresh water tank
- fiberglass fridge vent, and front and rear cowlings
- univolt, electrical power and antennae receptacles
- screens, and door and window hardware

Feel free to ask about any other interior parts. I've already set the demolition crew loose, so please ask soon. I can take digital photos of any part you are interested in.

On April 16th (4 weeks from now), I am sending undesired parts to the local landfill, so please let me know what you'd like so it can be safely set aside for you.

Mind if we ask why you are doing this to what looks like a great Airstream?

Oh the pain...the pain...

Chris,

Thanks for the offer. Hope someone can get some benefit.

Honestly, it is sad to see another one gutted out like a fish. I guess ones like mine which I intend to keep intact will be worth more and more as time goes on. Let me guess, a home office?

Thanks for the comments, I love this forum. I've received inquiries on a few parts. That is wonderful, because I too believe it would be a shame to lose all the original components to a landfill.

I will post a reminder in 2 weeks about the approaching dump truck.

It was tough decision to perform such an invasive rehab on a beautiful Airstream. For many people, it is probably in good enough condition to Full-Time in. I've already replaced shocks/brakes/axles/awnings/etc. on the exterior. In my case, though, a 30 year old trailer can look great on the outside, but, as you peel back a few layers, there can be some really nasty stuff growing on the inside.

In an effort to provide a clean, healthy, comfortable living environment for my wife and I, we will be removing all of the interior skins to replace all of the insulation, and portions of the floor. This requires the interior to come out, in one way or another.

As Shari mentioned, you can see a before and after plan in my www.airstreamphotos.com photo album: http://www.airstreamphotos.com/photo...papass=&sort=1

Thanks,

Christopher

Christopher,

What a generous offer! I have a few items I would be interested in if you still have them and are not going to be using them.

Curtain Hardware? Even old curtains would be useful as I have none. (I suppose you may be keeping that stuff though?)

Do you have a "wardrobe" unit in the midsection? I am in need of one of the folding doors that is on the bottom section next to the set of drawers. Mine is badly damaged, and rather than re-veneer it I thought maybe I could just replace it altogether. From your plans it looks like maybe you won't be using the existing cabinetry?

How about the hardware off the lower storage compartments? I need new chrome latch assemblies.

Might also be interested in the light fixture from the midsection bedroom - the double lamp set that goes over the bed. Yours may be better looking than the one I currently have.

Let me know if any these are possible and we can work out the details.

Thanks and good luck on your renovation! I know it's hard to accept gutting one of these old beauties but I'm just glad to know you are keeping one on the road and out of the junkyard :-)

Post here or Private Message me with any items you may be willing to part with.

I am interested in acquiring two wall lights with single or double heads.

I also need three tubs under the single bed and three under the front pull-out bed.

I will put these into a 67 Tradewind.

Thanks for making your parts available.
