Working Armstrong TR21-12 up for grabs

I have a 1972 Sovereign with a Armstrong AC unit that I need to replace with a larger and newer unit. It works fine but it was undersized from day one. I brought it back to life in 2006. It's in decent cosmetic shape and cools within it's R20 limits. I'd like to see it go to someone who can use it instead of it ending up recycled. I'm in northern CA and I'm not looking to get any cash for it.

It's yours if we can figure out how to get it to you without it costing an arm and a leg. I'm located in N California about midway between San Francisco and Sacramento. I'm just finally getting around to getting off my butt to replace it. I'll do it sometime mid July. PM me if you have the means and ways to get it and I'll make sure not to trash any of it during the removal. I'd much prefer it didn't end up in the landfill. It's still in good shape and if it was the larger unit I'd keep it.

If you don't work things out with lcrupper, I'd also be interested. I've been planning to use my '69 Overlander without AC, since the original unit was removed long before I took possession of the trailer, and I try to camp in places that are not overly hot. But the ability to replace with an era-appropriate unit would be awesome.

I'm in Boise, and could arrange a weekend to drive down to NorCal, it's only a day's drive.

Subscribed to see if either of the first two claims pan out. If not I too will make a play at getting it from you.

Thanks!

still would want your old unit if available. Son lives in Portland and I think we can pick it up . I appreciate your wanting to save the old beast. I tell everybody NEVER NEVER NEVER throw any old airstream stuff away, somebody is looking for it.

I'm not entirely certain how the DM system on this forum works but I don't see any messages. I finally got around to ordering a new 15K Dometic last night. As soon as it shows up I'll pull the Armstrong. If somebody wants to make a go for it I'll be careful pulling it and I'm happy to hold it for a while.
