Where to install AC on '72 Argosy 20
Hello,
I have purchased a Coleman AC unit and I will install myself. Can anyone tell me where the unit should be mounted? I have see several posts and the best I have come up with was Andy from Inland RV advising that on a 22' Argosy, the opening should be made 71" aft of the 0 bow.
Is the correct for a '72 Argosy 20? Was the model Argosy pre-wired?
Thanks,
John

The Coleman AC's required a "drain pan."
Without it, water will run down the sides of your Argosy.

Thanks Andy,
What kind of drain pan will I need? Do you know of an example photo?
Also, Am I correct that the ac should be 71" from bow 0 and should I expect to find a wire there?

The Coleman drain pan has not been available from Airstream for a number of years.
I can answer your second question, tomorrow, when I am at my office.

Thanks Andy,
I look forward to your reply to my second question.
With regard to my first question about a Coleman drain pan. What are my options?
Thanks,
John

Okay...now i get it. The drain pan is inside the unit under the evaporator. I read this very good article bryantrv.com/roofacleaks.html by Christopher D. Bryant. The article has very good illustrations.
Thanks again,
John

John.
The records are not that clear on a 20 foot Argosy.
I would guess that the dimension would be a few inches less than the 71.
Perhaps about 64 to 65 inches.
Someone answered your pan question.

Thank you Inland Andy,
That is about what I guessed looking at the little dot in the owners manual. It falls between to bows which makes sense. The only concern that I have now is the distance between the two vents. I wonder if the ac will fit. I guess I will measure.
