We're freezing, can anyone help?

Yesterday was the fridge (still not working) in our 2015 25FC. Now we stopped for the night (on the road all day), and the furnace won't turn on. It was working last night. We've checked the outside access, powered off 5 minutes, but nothing. Compressor Delay icon came on a couple of times but went off pretty quick.

Bonnie: On the Thermostat, are you certain you moved it to Furnace? The Heat Pump portion is only designed to heat down to about 40 degrees. The Furnace needs to be on with gas heat to truly warm up the trailer. 2015 (with ducted heat), have a heat pump function and the furnace. Also, if you don't have enough power, the heat pump portion will not function.

In the meantime, layers!
I wish you guys warmth.

Dendy

The thermostat must be in the furnace position, for the furnace to work. The heat pump will only work will external power, or a good generator providing external power.

Are you sure you have plenty of propane, is the propane automatic cross-over valve in the right position, are the batteries charged, is the Battery Disconnect switched to "USE", not "STORE", if you are without external power?

I know this sounds odd and may be off base, but check the time setting on the control. I'm convinced that some how I set the program for the Furnace to come on after a certain time and the clock on the control had to satisfy that time before it would turn on. Good luck! Pat

Do your stove top burners work? Then propane supply to furnace should be OK.

What is the battery level showing on your monitor? After towing all day, it should be close to 12.8 volts +/-. Anything down toward 12 or less may prevent the furnace from working correctly, as I understand it. [no expert here]

Can you get to a campground with electrical hookups and buy a small electric heater or two?

Hope you are warm for the night, where are you located BTW?

Good luck!

The compressor will not operate on batteries. It will give the hourglass indicator, then you may see E7 displayed.
Press the mode button until furn is displayed, and try again.

If you do not have hookups, fire up the tow vehicle and see if that helps. If the batterys are low thus may help.

I think you have a battery problem, affects both fridge and furnace.

Compressor Delay Icon indicates to me you changed the thermostat from Furnace to Heat Pump as there is no compressor in the furnace. I see you run a 25' but do you have dual Air Conditioners? If so the furnace is operated on Zone 2 settings, Zone one is the rear of the trailer, at least that is the way it is with our 2015 30'.

Have checked > furnace, not HP; checked LP; not on Program; one A/C unit, so no on zones; battery indicates 12.3 but will try starting tow vehicle to see if that helps, it does seem that the fridge has been running when we drive, but not working when we stop; have checked use/store; reset. Left a msg for airstream service. Had blankets and sleeping bags; made it OK through night, just cold getting up :-0 We really do appreciate everyone's help. I'll write a book after this trip ;-)

Sounds like you've diagnosed the issue. Need more juice in the batteries if you're going to boondock. If you don't already have a second battery, might be worth adding one. If you do have a second battery, it might be time to add solar to recharge the batteries while traveling.

Also, depending on your TV(age and type), you may need to add the fuse to allow it to charge the trailer while your driving. I know both Chevy and Ford (even with the tow package) don't always put the fuse in that allows the TV to send power to the trailer during towing. My fuse was in the glovebox of the truck, and took about 5 min to install. IIRC, that's good for about 10amps of battery power (recharge or use) per hour while driving. However, don't rely on that for a charge overnight, as it will drain your TV battery as well, and you will be stranded in the morning.

Good luck!

Low battery voltage. If you are in the Furnace mode make sure the Fan is in Auto. When you turn the furnace on if you don't hear the fan on the furnace start nothing else is going to happen. No ignition. 12.3 volts is about 50% and further use of the batteries may damage them. The reason is that for long life you don't want to discharge lead acid or AGM batteries below 50%.

Although various charts disagree with each other, Interstate (which I have) states 50% at 12.06V. And it's not a linear curve, per my Trimetric observations. 12.3V is more like 75% (iirc, can't find the chart right now).

Be sure all settings on thermostat are set to Auto and then select Furn. We had the same issue on our maiden voyage and after a call to the service dept this solved the problem.

Our furnace also stopped working on a cold trip. I took it in to the dealer and after he checked for propane etc he turned on the furnace set to auto and still would not run. The tech removed to outside panel and on top of the furnace boy there is a switch (on/off) that he toggled a couple of times and then the furnace worked. He said that sometimes the switch on the inside of the furnace gets stuck and switching the switch on and off will reset it.

Good luck

That was my first thought as well ... have you reset the furnace from the outside access panel?

Batteries too low for furnace to kick on. Charge them up, like someone posted you may need a fuse in your vehicle to activate that line

Any chance one or both of your batteries are bad, or heading south? How recently have you checked the water levels and specific gravity of each cell with a glass tube battery tester? What is the in-service date on each battery? With improper charging, even a one-year old battery can be damaged enough to mess things up.
