My AC is probably kaput, and I'm wondering if there is another type of AC that works in an Airstream. I'm also considering just getting rid of it and installing a second Fantastic Fan (I could always put in another AC unit later). I see on the Road Chief website that the new design has an AC unit that is evidently housed within the trailer compartment rather than on the roof. I think that this design would have several advantages. I bet it has some drawbacks as well and I'd like to explore them all.
Does anyone have ideas on who makes this type of compact AC unit for use on the inside? Has anyone installed one? I'd love to get rid of the big wart on my roof.
Thanks for your thoughts
The guy who owned the trailer before me put a window air-conditioner below the dinette and vented it out the bottom of the trailer. It works great and looks better than a unit on the top.
