I installed a new Suburban NT30. I fit nice and works great, as advertised. Ran it 4 times, ½ hour or so each time. There is a strong “new furnace smell” that permeates the entire Airstream. Not a bad smell, but strong. Could this simply be new furnace heating up for first few times and “burning in” or “outgassing”? It took several days with all doors and windows open to reduce it. Fired up furnace again and here it is again. CO level is fine, no propane leaks, just “burnt” furnace smell.
I would say yes...new furnace, needs to be broken in. Everyone, including new coach owners report similar findings. If it lasts longer than a dozen times running regularly, then I would start to be concerned. If it lasted longer than that, concern would change to grave concern, but I truely doubt it will come close to that. You're in good company.
