Suburban Elec Ignition Question Problem.
I purchased a new 2006 suburban furnace w/ elec ignition to replace old 69 Land Yacht original beast. The "ignitor/sensor" combo (a small porcelin tube with wire element) is attached to a wire and is placed through a small hole into the burner chamber. The ignitor/sensor does not fit tightly and just hangs there. If it is placed too far in the ignitor arcs onto the face plate. if it is not pushed far enough in it doesn't spark the propane and or get enough heat to maintain operation.
Question(s) How should the ignitor fit in the hole, why isn't there an insulated gasket to hold it in the right position? What is a home fix?
I can position it to light off fine, but I am afraid if it cycles once lit it may not refire if not in the exact position.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks Deano
