Thumbs up Stand Alone Heat Pump?

Has anyone replaced their AC with one of the new stand alone heat pumps that act as a heater/AC/dehumidifier/fan. It stands seperate on wheels and you vent it out the window. I saw them on the camping world website and in person at Sam's club.

Currently, we have an old Armstrong on our roof. We thought being able to get rid of the AC on the roof would give our unit a sleek look. Plus it has all the features we need. My youngest has asthema so we are trying to make things more comfortable for him.

My brother mentioned that a lot of the new AC units have a heat strip and that we should look into one of those because we could have heat and AC.

What are your experiences? My husband says that the Armstrong AC is all rusted out and seized.

Heat pumps lose effectiveness when it is colder outside. I know the heat strip on my rooftop unit produces all the A/C noise for very little heat when I've tried it. I don't doubt that it could raise the inside temp to the thermostat set point. Circulating via the necessary breeze seems to defeat the purpose of heating too. I'd rather use the LP furnace when I'm in the coach.
