Shopping for new AC

I own a 1975 Sovereign, 31 foot. I replaced the air conditioner 10 years ago at JC with a Dometic 13,000 btu unit, however it is not up to the task. I am looking for a replacement which is both more powerful and quieter. Any suggestions?

Hi

Well..... the two main sizes are 13,000 and 15,000 BTU. As noted in many other threads, swapping one for the other is futile. There isn't enough cooling difference to even notice. The real issue is that you need two AC's on a 31' trailer to really do a job in the summer. Indeed it's a bit weird that the RV world works this way, but that's how they do it.

Given that pretty much nobody uses anything other than the two main sizes ... even if you *could* find something bigger (that nobody ever uses ...) do you really want to be the guinea pig on that model ?

The only practical answer - buy some fans and get more comfort out of what you already have.
