Wac,

Just order the SP and when you get your hands on it, you'll most likely be able to figure out a way to use your existing housing.

I had to cut a hole in the side of my original shell and had to move it to the right about 3/4" of an inch. You won't know for sure until you have it in front of you.

Bottom line is, it will either fit perfectly or you'll have to make a few modifications. But there really isn't a 3rd choice (other than doing without).

Relax and order the furnace!

You will need to plate the exterior and make new holes.

Modern furnaces will not use the old vent, nor will they fit the same holes, not even close.

Okay now, I an a newbie. What do you mean by plate the exterior? And also if I cannot use the old vents what would be the point of putting it in? The duct carries the hot air... the furnace needs to line with the ducts. Andy please explain it to me in more detail.

Plating the exterior shell means riveting a panel over the hole in the side that will be there when you remove the original furnace.

New style furnaces do not have an exterior chimney, as your furnace has.

To use that old outside cover on a new furnace, is probably asking for more problems than you even want to think about, let alone experience.

The rule is simple.

DO NOT modify any LPG appliance, EVER.

Use them as they were intended, or leave it alone.

LPG explodes faster than you can blink an eye.
