A/C replacement
Frank, (and Brett)
I replaced my old Duo-Therm with a newer used Duo-Therm. The newer one was lighter and lower to the roof. I did not add any new supports. The old one had some kind of al sheet that went over the exterior of the opening. I removed that too! (BTW I have saved all the old pieces. I always do that just in case)
The new unit is a piston compressor vs a rotory. It has drain holes on both street and curb side in the front. I have not connected the drain holes as I do not know where to do the connection. So the condensate just drains over the top and down the side. I know this is rather crude to have water draining down the side, however waiting to resolve the issue was not an option at the time of installation.
The new/used unit was obtained at AZ RV Salvage at the cost of $350.00. It came with installation instructions and a new mounting gasket. Installation was a breeze.
Pics are on my site.
