As some of you all know,I have a 25'SS.When we use the furnace a lot of the heat goes into the bathroom and is really hot in there because it is a small area.I am planning to block it off halfway to controll it a bit more.
When I was digging around and checking things out I noticed where the furnace tube ran.It went thru the dinette seat and then to the bathroom.What I am wanting to do is reroute it with another piece and purchase one of those white plastic vents and cut a hole in the dinette seat so we have warm feet during the colder times.
I have never done this type of thing before and was wondering if anyone would know how to splice into the duct work?Would I just cut a hole into it and then tape another piece of flex tubing to it and attach it or is there something more to it than that.Just needing some advise on the best way to do it right the first time.
Also I plan to do the same thin and put a smaller tube to go under the bed.It gets cold under there and I can feel it coming thru the matress.

Just pickup a Y fitting, you cut the duct, insert the Y and branch off to a difusser a round hole needs to be cut, that's it.

I had a hole in an area once about an inch long in the tube and I tried to duct tape it.When I went back to check it again it did not stay on that good.It is not a bad leak but I would like to fix it also.Seems that the duct works are made of some type of plastic that either can not hold on to it that long or the furnace heat got to it over time.Is there a tape for doing duct work or is there plastic connector fitting I can get at my local hardware store?

What diameter hose are we talking about here?

there is a heater specific duct tape out there... but..for the hole, I'd just cut the tube in two and use a splice fitting to really fix it. I think you clamp the hose to the fitting (the fitting goes inside the plastic ducting).

See you local Home Depot for the fittings (should be the standard size).

I am going there today to check around.I would think they would have something like a connector to fit iside the duct and then have a screw ring clamp to tighten.I hope it turns out that easy.

The diameter is around 4 to 5 inches.
The thing with the 25'SS Is that where they mounted the furnace vents they are not distributing the Air evenly.The back in the bedroom area will get warm the bathroom gets really hot and the front always stays just a bit colder but I think it is because of the large area the one vent has to warm up.It is also very cold under the bed also and you can feel it thru the matress.I am just wanting to make things a lot more comfortable.
I will be blocking the bathroom vent about half way and that should put more air under the dinette.Also Putting a smaller duct pointing toward the underside of the bed should make it nicer.I am hoping this works unless someone has a better solution.

You need to look for a T fitting and remember, at least this is what my AC man told me when I added one to my house, the straight line of the T will get the majority of the air the branch will get less. You may use this to your advantage and re-direct some of the air to your feet and less aft to the bathroom. Look in the AC aisle for the proper duct tape for plenums - the stuff you get at Wally Worlds is not up to snuff. BTW - it sticks really well to itself so do a complete wrap around. The vent faces you will see at HD have some with opening/closing mechanisms - I would go with those instead of blocking the vent in the bathroom - cheap solution and more effective at controling the air flow.
