Replacing the NT22a with an SF-20 Anyone done this

Well, I decided to bite the bullet and replace my original NT22 before it replaces me. I spoke to Suburban and they say a NT 20 sp is the common replacement that fits the original holes without mods, but I had 2 questions.
1) in a 1967 22' Safari, is that true?
2) Has anyone tried to replace with an SF- series (sf-20) in my case.

I'm not wanting to cut new vent holes in the side or floor of my Turtle. Has anyone made a exhaust vent successful to marry the old port with the new?
Air intake is not as crucial as I'm sure just supplying enough fresh air is the key.
Didn't know if a muffler shop call would be in order, or if there is any flexible pipe that could be used and sealed off successfully? I definately want something with a little flex and no fumes.

NT furnaces are 9 3/8" x 9 3/8" x 22 1/2 " deep. The SF by Suburban is 7 1/2 " high, 17" wide, and20" deep. The SF is not suitable except in late model applications. I installed a 2019 NT-S 19,000 BTU in my 1965 Safari and it was a great fit. I had to get a small amount of ductwork done. My local heating contractor fixed this modification for me easily.

Thanks Heirstreamer. I know the sf will not drop in and fit without doing some modifications. I'm mostly wondering about the exhaust connection. If there is a way (without throwing money at it) to safely and easily make this connection.

You can put a SF-20 in, although it requires a few modifications. I chose the SF-20 because of the lower profile.

There are several pictures in my gallery. I replaced the side skin on my '59 Tradewind, so I installed the standard inlet and exhaust assembly.

This is a 20s that I put in my TW when I replaced the old NT (24?). I just measured everything out to get the right height for the exhaust. It works fine. I did cover one heat exhaust and run the other one into the existing vent. Both heat vents are just side cutouts from the same chamber.

I maight add there was a bit of drilling in the rather hard steel side wall from the old furnace. It makes a great fire wall between the plumbing and electrical. I did need to cut holes for gas, the on-off switch and the wiring. It was time consuming but not terribly difficult. I shure it would go faster now that I have done it once!
