Replacement furnace for 24' Argosy needed

I am looking for some advice on what furnace to replace my Suburban NT-22C furnace with. I have searched and read lots of threads, but still not sure what to get. I have been looking at the NT20S and the NT30SP which seems like overkill to me. This will go in my 1977 Argosy 24 footer. Thanks Brian

The NT30SPc was a close match in my 72Tradewind. The ducting and the vent line up pretty well. Palomino RV had the best pricing on the units.

Is the NT30 more furnace then needed? Mine came with a 19,000 BTU and the NT30 is almost 30,000 BTU's. It seems too big. Does it run long enough to be efficient or does it run and shut off run and shut off a lot? I just want to get this right the first try. Thanks Brian

As a replacement to the original NT 24, the 30 is the closest match to replacement without having to re-engineer the duct and venting system. I had to raise it up a couple of inches sitting it on 2x2 wood to get it to align. And the electrical connections are on the right side instead of the left. Once complete it was pretty quiet when running.

The NT-20Q is 19,000 BTUH input and draws 3.1 amps

Airxcel | Suburban Manufacturing Products

The NT-30SP is 30,000 BTUH input and draws 4.5 amps

Airxcel | Suburban Manufacturing Products

(despite looking the same, the two links go to two different pages)

The skimpy specs they give on their website tells me that the 20Q is physically smaller and lighter, but leaves exact information on outlets somewhat to the imagination.

In your place, I would call Suburban and ask them.

We replaced an old NT-32 with the 30SP in our 31-footer, and it has PLENTY of output and never runs for overly long periods. Unless you live or camp in very cold places or seasons, I would be tempted to go the the 20Q.

Either one will require some fabrication as noted in an earlier post...

A 20,000 btuh unit will be just fine in your rig. No more is needed.

Agreed, I would just want to know if it has two or more hot air outlets (you need two). It should, but from the Suburban spec page it's just not clear.

Is it a faux pas to ask for an update? I'm about to replace the furnace in my 73 argosy 26 and am just looking for further direction.
