Thanks AYRSTRM2 for all of your help. That number you gave me got me through to Jevin and he helped me. He put me on hold and found out shipping costs to both Montana and to Alberta. I bought the RM 2510 for $550.00
A great price when here in Alberta they want $1600-1300 for the exact fridge. I should have it within a week or so and will let everyone know how it works..Thanks again for great advice here in airstream forums..This place rocks!!!

Palomino is AWESOME!! Jevin is the man and he really helped me out. We bought our 79 Sovereign and structurally we got a gem for $3,000. However the fridge didn't work and I was leery of the furnace and water heater due to the unit sitting up so long. I decided to blow most of my budget on the mechanicals and worry about cosmetics later. My local RV shop wanted $1550.00 for the Dometic 2820 to replace my RM100. I wound up getting the Dometic 2820, Suburban Furnace SF35F, Suburban Water Heater SW6DE, SeaLand china toilet and new awning fabric for $1,475 + $150 shipping and I'll have it all in a week! TAKE THAT CAMPER WORLD!! Jevin was very knowledgeable, VERY PATIENT and very polite. If you need something don't hesitate to call these guys!! -Don

The contact info was in this thread when the thread was first started. I am not sure where it went.
I am glad to see my old thread still gets a lot of hits.
I have had three emails and two PM's about drain tube modifications from people who bought their A/C units from Family RV. This makes me feel like I have helped all of us save a little money and find the best deals on stuff for our hobby.
Believe it or not, I actually found Family RV and Palomino selling items similar but not the same model of what I was looking for. I emailed each of them and asked if they had what I was looking for. Imagine my surprise when Palomino had darn near everything I was looking for, and at a big savings compared to the dealerships and Camping World!
If you see someone selling something on Ebay; hit them up! You never know what you might find.

I pulled the Diometic on my 69 Land Yacht, took off the door and then took off the plastic shell I fiberglassed a few holes then painted with two cans of "plastics spray paint" from lowes. No smell and the unit bech tested fine both electric and gas. Very sturdy indeed. I Spray painted the exterior metal where rusted and think I am good to go for several more years. The only thing I am disappointed with is the nasty refrig door seal that has rust stains and is deformed. I guess I could cut a new one to fit but they run like 80 bucks. Well the point I thought important was that the "plastic spray paint" worked really well on the inside of the fridge, we will see if it holds up.

they are in Colon, MI. A little over an hours drive from where the Detroit Rally will be held. Or about 20 minutes off of I-94. I thought that this was maybe a back door deal, but they have an actual sales office that deals with you and you get an actual invoice.

I never bought a water heater from them myself.
I bought mine from the Camping World "scratch and dent" outlet in Bowling Green, KY for $80!

Just a brief note on Palomino RV parts. I ordered some stuff from them a month ago.

I did a lot of price checking with CW, PPL, and other online sources. I sent Jevin my spreadsheet. The items were:

2-door Dometic refrigerator
Penguin AC
Suburban 6 gal DSI/electric water heater
Sealand 511+ toilet
Suburban SF style furnace

The best prices I could find on the web totalled abround $3000
Jevin beat those prices by $1100.

. . . and the freight was $130 total.

There were a few items missing that were resolved satisfactorily.

My highest recommendations. And thanks to Lou for the tip!

Palomino took care of me too. I saved around $450 for my Penguin and atwood water heater. They are probably the best kept secret around here.

Had a great experience with Palomino as well. I got a new refigerator and suburban heater for the price everyone else was selling the refrigerator by itself. Great Recommendation.

Same here, just received my Atwood water hearter (6 gal, elect. ign), Suburban NT-30 furnace, Suburban black range and range hood for $900 delivered, all from Palomino. You have to know what you want but it was quick and the price was right!

I think they have a website for their trailers, but to order parts you need to call, fax, or email them.

Nope. Not the last time I checked. Forget about it. Don't even ask. Just call Jevin with what you want. Make sure you know what you want before you call. I've been to the plant. They just order what you tell them and deliver it to you.
