Yep, I broke the large copper line off at the rear coil. The drip pan was toast. Should I attempt what you did? I know a guy who could do the work. Not sure if this is out of my league
My number is 630-8021-7653. I would love to hear from you.
Thanks in advance

They just don’t build them like they use to! This reminds me of this old refrigerator we had from the 50’s still working. I’m sorry I got rid of it last year if it wasn’t for the manual defrosting…

Air con unit

looking at mine it looks like I would have to pull it out from the top of the trailer unless i start popping rivets. how did you take the unit out if you don't mind me asking ?

Tim65,

It come out in two pieces. From the inside, you will have to remove the defuser from the ceiling by remove a few rivets, exposing the Evaporator, fan blade and selector switch so they can all be removed. I can remember if the two freon tube connection points are inside or outside, but regardless they will need to come apart.

From the outside you can remove the remaining unit after removing a few rivets and lifting the compressor, fan motor and condenser and electrical connections.

Question becomes, do you want to remove or rebuild? If you're just rebuilding, there's no need to remove the inside (unless the evaporator has a hole, which would be shown after a drawdown test). You can replace the fan motor, compressor, etc.. from the outside as part of a rebuild.

Good Luck

Hello Jason, I'm having some issues with my Armstrong T25, wondering if you could share what compressor you upgraded to?

If you Google the part numbers I listed, you'll find some vendors. eBay and Grainger both have the fan.
