Rear storage heat

Windy!
When camping during cool weather I noticed our rear bed 34' has a lot of cool/cold air coming into the AS from the rear storage hatch area.

Is there supposed to be heat in there from underbelly of AS?

There is no heat provisions in the rear compartment. In addition to cold air being uncomfortable, you can also get condensation between the mattress and the wood, resulting in mold growth. In these conditions I run a 200 watt electric heater in the trunk. I have a permanently installed extension cord running from the bedside wardrobe down to the trunk for this purpose.

No real heat ducts really get to the compartments. There is one duct that goes through the curb side compartment, but does not have a opening to it. Heat is directed toward the tanks. We insulated the compartments with staple on foil bubble wrap. we also insulate under the mattresses. An in duct fan can be installed increase airflow to the bedroom. If you are connected to power, a small electrical heater in the bedroom makes it better, as does an electric blanket.

Gotcha! Thanks for ideas! Going to implement before cool wx hits.

The first owner cut a hole in the side of bed base near street side for his flagpoles to poke thru as he stored in the rear compartment.

So I have some airflow...like it or not.. Will add small heater.
