Question on AC Drip Pan

I'm trying to install a drip pan under my Penquin AC on a 63 Globetrotter.

Does the gasket go between the roof skin and the drip pan or does the drip drip pan go next to the roof skin with the gasket on top of the drip pan?

Mount the drip pan next to the aluminum. You may want to cut out some of the excess gasket material where the drip channels cross the gasket about 1/4 of the way from the front edge.

I have heard that some dealers eliminate the gasket and just use large amounts of caulk. This may work if you never want to be able to remove it.
