Pulling wires before thinking

When I first got my trailer I was trying to figure out what was wrong with the Suburban 24. I spliced a few wires and got the fan to work. I was attempting to get fire to the unit and pulled a wire off an electrode. One of two that controlled ignition. Well I discovered it wasn't supposed to come apart. I wonder if I can solder the thing (flame switch or igniter) to test the unit?
