Question Plaque Heaters

OK I hear alot about Catalytic heaters in trailers, but what is a plaque heater? Are plaque heaters suitable for our trailers?

Lowes advertises a 16000 and 30000 BTU 3-plaque and 5-plaque heater respectively. The big one it says heats 1000 sq,ft.
and the smaller up to 600 sq.ft.

Exclamation Be careful!!

Those heaters may not be approved for use in an RV! They may not hold up under RV use, and fall apart. And you know what happens to gas appliances that fall apart in RVs, they go BOOM!

Plaque heaters have been around for years, and were often installed in older homes as room heaters on the wall. The Plaque is a ceramic plate which is heated to redhot by either LP or natural gas. Don't know if they make them for use in an RV.
