awesome weather you're having cfw!

hey aviator...want to install our a/c?! I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with 3 way today and i'm no less scared to have them do it than I was before! and while they were an airstream service center for years (not any more) they've never heard about the drain cups, they're talking about using z-bar for the support adding rivets to the roof and ceiling (more holes?!) and then the zbar doesn't even get attached to the ribs?! I'm so nervous!

I've seen these 3 hole installations and I don't like them a bit! Especially on the curved roof of an Airstream.

The bottom mounting flange has the holes required for a proper 4 hole installation. I would definitely remove the center rear bolt and add 2 at each side (like at the front).

I have lots of bolts!

Definitely go with four bolts as Lew says. If you only use one bolt on the rear on a curved roof Airstream, as the Dometic directions specify, you run the risk of breaking the interior cast aluminum frame of the ADB. Even if you torque the bolts to the proper torque with a torque wench.

If you look in the corners of the frame the bolts go into, you should see a hole in each corner as well as the one in the middle which you used. The plastic interior air box should also have holes in the corner which will line up.

When I installed a Penguin ac in our 73 Over lander I had to use two seals stacked to get enough clearance. Also, if you don't have a working drain you will get water streaks on the exterior skin from condensation drainage. You probably already know this but I have had way too many "wish I had known" moments. When the ac drain clogged on a trip to the Gulf coast we had water dripping inside and out...mama was not happy.

Very clean job, congrats!
So how does the unit performs between 12:00 and 15:00?
Curious about the the 30 to 50amps conversion, please start a threat and post some pics. We are seriously considering to do the same.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks.

A few pics of today's effort to complete install.

Now, because I can't run through wall I exited the ceiling

Then I stuck to ceiling using sticky back wire tie mounts. I added a sheetmetal screw in center. Then used double wire ties to go around sleeve.
