Penguin AC replacement

My Safari came with the 11,000 btu Penguin and I'm not satisfied with it. It can't keep the interior cool on these really hot, humid days in the South. Nothing wrong with the unit, it just can't overcome the heat gain. Sooo, I'm upgrading to a 13,500 btu something. Interested in comments regarding the cooling capabilities of recent installations of Coleman or Carrier units as well as the larger Penguin. Really want to hear about installs in trailers equal to or larger than mine.

Thanks

Greg

I have a 78 24ft Argosy that I replaced the AC with a 13,500btu Carrier, with the heat strip. My Argosy is parked down at the lake and when I get there on Friday afternoon it's HOT. The temp here in Oklahoma has been between 105 and 110 for days. I go in, turn on the AC and leave the door open for about 10 minutes. It cools this trailer down very fast and at night we have to turn the temp down to keep from being too cold. I'm very happy with my Carrier.

There is a shop in Florida that sells Carrier very cheap. The difference between 15K and 13.5K is nominal. Well worth the price to know you can stay cool anywhere in the south or souther if need be.

Family RV Parts and Repair 727 389-3440.

Stay cool .

Greg, It is hot here in Mississippi when you decide what you are going with let me know, I'm sure we will be replacing our 31 year unit sometime in the future. Knock on wood it is working okay right now. Private msg me when you decide. By the way what dealer works on your trailer?
