NT22 FC (A) Furnace electric igniter won't stop sparking

I finally ran gas to check the operation of my Suburban NT 22 FC (also has an "A" stamped on the plate) furnace in my 76 Safari. The unit fired up right away and everything seemed to be working. There is a little light on the circuit board that indicates spark and I noticed that this was almost constantly lit. I verified that the igniter was constantly sparking when the unit was running through the view window. I've searched the web and haven't found much if anything that helps me. Anybody ever have this happen to them? I just pulled the furnace today to inspect and clean. Thanks for the help. Not sure what the next step is.

4.5 out of 5 people will tell you to ditch the NT22A furnace due to crossover tube/recall on the exhaust tube. i tried many times to repair mine from my 72 and then tossed it. Bad fan moter then a friend looked at the Gas manifold and said that there was rust inside. The NT30SP is a good replacement. But here are some manuals for you to peruse. Happy reading

Thanks! Found this in the pile of documents.

F. Continuous Sparking Of the Electrode:
1. Check the sensor wire and high-tension wire for good connections. Check for separations in either wire - repair or replace. Check to be certain that the flame sensor probe is over the slots in the main burner and that the main burner flame is burning against the tip of the sensor probe. Adjust by bending the probe or repositioning the burner. The burner flame should be a hard blue flame, lying down on the burner.

If you replace the unit then Palomino RV had the best price on the Nt30Sp. I did a thread on how to do it.

I've verified/have paperwork that the crossover tube recall has been fixed. I really can't afford to spend $600 on a furnace at the moment. If I can get this working for a season or two, that would be the most practical way to go for me.

I think I spent around $350 for my replacement furnace from Palomino RV. Sounds like your furnace has the electronic circuit board in it. Good luck on repairs.

Wow! That was a good buy! Lowest I've seen is $569 for the NT30SP.
