NT16F furnace repair question

If you have any information, is there gas valves and switch available for this furnace, NT16F. If you know where I can find those parts, please let me know. Thanks.

How old is the unit, and what condition is the heat exchanger and burner.
Worked on number of these, and are always concerned about safety.
Check it over carefully before investing any money into it.

Thanks

Myself and another guy who is an RV tech and Suburban dealer have looked without success for a retrofit solution for that gas valve. I had to find another heater from this era and salvage the gas valve from it. You may be better off with a new heater anyway.

I HAD a NT 16F in my 71 GT. I stuck a borescope inside the burner can and it scared me. Full of tiny pinholes from rust. Threw it away and bought a NT20 forced air unit out of a wrecked late model SOB for 100 dollars. It bench checked perfect. I'll bet it was only used a time or two before the trailer was rear ended.

You can get a replacement furnace pretty cheap on ebay. Do an ebay search for:
rv furnace. There's one listed for $319 - SUBURBAN 16,000 BTU RV FURNACE NT-16SE TRAILER SMALL HEATER FOR CAMPER LP GAS.

Does the crossover tube which connects the combustion blower wheel to the combustion chamber have a red stripe on it? If it does and is in good condition things are fairly OK, but if it is the original black one, they crack and were subject to recall by Suburban years ago. The recall replacement tube has a red stipe on it. Suburban no longer has the recall parts nor do they support any service items for their furnaces which use pilot lights.

Just something else to think about.
