New Suburban NT30 Question on Brass Elbow

Got my new NT30 Suburban installed and running today. I have a question about the brass elbow shown below. Is this supposed to get really hot? I am actually running 4 ducts now as well. My old one would get pretty warm but this one gets much hotter. Not glowing or anything but much hotter than the other one. Anyone?

Thanks in advance....

Kevin,

You could try insulating around the opening or possibly even using a rubber grommet.

I haven't put gas to mine yet (I'm about to) but when I do, I'll check it out.

I'm not sure it's an issue, as long as there are no combustibles in close contact.

P.S. - We'll see you in Hiawassee in April....we'll be on the other side of Craig (DavidZ71) from you.
