I talked to RV repair guy. He has old unit and I am going to get it back and have an AC guy that thinks he can "hot Wire " it to run on max/ high fan with toggle switch when ever I need extra unit.
I think I am going to have another RV repair guy that I have used for years but that is always so busy that it takes weeks for him to come out and work on your AS cut a whole in the roof where the old TV antenna is now and mount the "old unit" as my second unit and put a 20 amp dedicated plug to run that.
Any thoughts or suggestions? I figure that should be easier and cheaper than trying to switch out whole electrical system to 50 amp.
Only prob is at Texas football tailgates which I love, I have to run my generator and my Honda EU 3000 will not run two ACs. I guess I will have to buy another generator? Will a Honda EU 2000 run just that one 13500 AC or will I need a bigger generator?
Thanks to all that helped with this problem.
Damn it is hot in TX and Hookem Horns!

Something just does not seem right: when you have to run two AC's at a football game. I would run one AC and a fan.

With one AC the interior temp with two fans reached 95 * . You could not be inside to prepare food or use the restroom without sweating like a pig.
It was more comfortable outside under awning even with outside temp 105*

I certainly would hope that nobody is playing football in 105 degrees.

If you look as a National Weather Service thermometer setup, you'll see that the official temperatures are always temps in the shade. Low 90's in the shade can easily be 105° in direct sun.

And when it's 105 in the shade... it's time to go to Colorado for a month!

Someday, someday.

If one looks at the current Airstream Catalog, trailers 25' and longer all get one 15,000 BTU AC unit with the standard 30 amp electric service. If one upgrades to the 50 amp service, then a second AC is installed (rated 13,500 BTU) usually where the front fantastic fan is located. On the Classic 27FB model, that is in the front bed room.

Most say no.

There is a thread where someone checked the power draw on his AC on low was 1575 watts and the EU 2000 only puts out 1600 watts continuous. He said his 2000 could run his AC (when it was only 65* outside).

Your AC might draw slightly more and never run on a 2000 and even if it does it may damage the generator or AC running the generator at max output continuously.

Sounds like another Honda 3000 is the answer. Has anyone tried Powerhouse 3100 ? It is $700 cheaper but I have loved my Honda
