need heat

I need help. Our 67 Caravel had its heater removed by the PO. It was mounted under the stove and directly behind where it was located is the curb side wheel well. Since the heater is missing I have no idea what it looked like (shape of back side) It could only have been about 7" in depth because of the wheel well. The exhaust vented out above the wheel. The only replacement heater I can find that would work is what they call a 'wave catalytic heater' This heater would fit because it's only 5" deep, but if its what I think it is when the heater is on there is an exposed flame. Has anyone used this type heater. The heater I am looking at is made for trailers and sold at a RV dealer. Does anyone have an opinion or suggestion? To many cold nights up north to go without anything. (Caravel didn't have ducted heat)
I would like to mount the heater in its orginial location if at all possible.

Thanks, my problem is the wheel well. So the heater cant be deep, but they do have one on that site that only requires 9" in height. I need to measure the space above the wheel well, that one may fit.
