Mud daubers in A/C
Turned the a/c on recently, after not using it since the 4th of July weekend, and the whole unit started shaking violently. So, got up on the roof, removed the a/c cover and saw what looked like clumps of concrete, fist sized, inside the squirrel cage blower. Used the screwdriver to break them apart, exposing insect larvae, and some research revealed that they are beneficial mud dauber wasp nests. The mud dauber builds nests from clay, which is abundant in the Lake Michigan bluffs where we parked the Airstream for the season. Unfortunately, I had to destroy the nests to remove them, but I'll put them out in a weather sheltered area to see if they will still produce wasps.
